CLI manager

coord is the command line tool. Run with no arguments, it opens the live view: every agent in your project, the files they are in, messages and what just happened, updated every couple of seconds.

coord

The live view

The live view opens with a short banner: the version and project, the repo and branch, whether the background daemon is up, and which agent apps this repo is connected to. Then come the panes.

  1. Header. The project name, how many agents are working, how many conflicts there are, how many of your agents need you (⚑), and how many unread messages are waiting for your agents. The mark turns to ⚠ while there is a conflict.
  2. Agents. One row per agent: its app, model, the person running it, branch, status word (Working, Waiting on you, Blocked, Idle or Ended) and how long since it last did something.
  3. Files in use. Each file an agent is working in, held by ‹agent›, and how long ago. A file two agents are both in is marked ⚠, comes first, and names both agents.
  4. Messages. Messages to and between agents, in the order they arrived, with who sent them to whom. Press Enter on one to read it in full.
  5. Events. A running log: agents joining and leaving, agents arriving in a file another agent is in, and commits.

In a terminal narrower than 80 columns only Agents and Events show. The view never grows wider than 100 columns.

This machine

Press L to switch to This machine: every agent on this machine, in every repo, read from the local record rather than the server, so it works offline and with no login. Agents that need you come first, marked ⚑, with the reason. In this view, d shows the selected agent's diff, m messages it, x stops it (press y to confirm), and Enter opens its transcript. L or Esc goes back. Logged out, the live view opens on this view. More in this machine.

Logged in, the live view shows the project of the repo you run it in. Run it inside a connected repo. When its output is not a terminal, for example coord | tee, it prints one snapshot as plain text and exits. NO_COLOR turns colour off.

The statusline in Claude Code

coord install claude-code --user sets up the Claude Code statusline for every repo, and coord connect --repo-files for one repo. It shows the project, how many agents are working and, when there are any, conflicts, how full this agent's context is, how many agents need you and unread messages:

✦ coordigent · 2 working · 1 ⚠ · ctx 41% · ⚑ 1 needs you · 3 ✉

Counts at zero are left out. The line comes from coord status --oneline, which reuses a copy at most 5 seconds old, so it rarely waits on the network.

Everyday commands

CommandDoes
coord statusPrints the agents and conflicts here once, with anything that needs you on top
coord sessionsLists every agent on this machine; diff, message, stop and end act on one, and start begins a run
coord msg <agent> "text"Sends a message to an agent by its short id, or to everyone working in this repo
coord claimsLists the files in use on this machine, per agent
coord openOpens your project on the website; --agent <id> (the agent's full id) and --file <path> open that agent's activity
coord doctorChecks each agent app, your login and the daemon, with the fix for each problem
coord updateInstalls the current version
coord unenrollStops Coordigent for you in this repo, on this machine; coord connect undoes it

A message from coord msg reaches the agent at its next step. The short id is the one coord status shows: at least 4 characters, and more when two agents start the same way. Run from an agent's own shell (an agent's Bash tool, for example), the message is signed by that agent, a reply goes back to it, and everyone leaves it out. everyone needs a login; logged out, coord msg reaches agents on this machine. coord open prints the address too, so it works over SSH.

To take the repo out of the project for everyone, the owner runs coord repo remove; see Connect a repo.

coord help lists every command, and coord <command> --help explains one without running it. The full list is in the CLI reference.
